The story of an exceptional human being cannot be summed up in a few words, especially when written by the man who spent so much time enjoying her company and the journey, that he didn’t realize that he should have taken notes along the way, but I’ll do my best to share what I can. I hope other friends and family will share some anecdotes on this tribute page as well.
I hate to start with the sad ending of the story, but everyone wants to know “what happened to the vivacious Zoe-Anne” and why haven’t we heard from her.
Zoe got the results of a routine blood test at the beginning of November 2023. The primary doctor got a message to her that the result didn’t look too good, so she should get a bone marrow test. We were asked to come in the next day to see a new doctor for the results.
We got the AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) diagnosis on November 9, 2023. That’s the day everything changed for both of us.
